Should I stop using an acne product if it doesn’t work after 9 days?
Question by Vanessa: Should I stop using an acne product if it doesn’t work after 9 days?
I’ve been using Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub, Power-Cream Wash, and 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment (all contain 2% salicylic acid).
I have been using it for 9 days now, and my acne has gotten worse…I have gotten many new pimples on my cheeks. They are the big, red, painful type. Also, my skin feels red and raw. Should I stop using the product, or should I wait it out and see if my acne clears up?

Vanessa,
Try using just the Cream Wash for a few days. See if that helps. You might actually be overscrubbing your face while not actually changing the things you need to for control of your acne. Try this also…..
Add Vitamin A, and Zinc to your diet (Also look for teen female formulated multivitamins).
Avoid all junk food.
Radically increase your intake of fresh fruit and vegetables.
The increased Vitamin A is the trick though. The worlds srongest acne meds. are made from Vitamin A so adding 5000 to 8000 IU’s daily will gain the same effect with none of the toxic side effects. You will see results within two weeks.
