Question by Alison: What music videos are out there that are long and symbolic, and can be analyzed for an English analysis paper?
My assignment is to write a 5 page analysis on a music video, analyzing its themes and patterns. Does anyone know of any music videos that would be good for my assignment? Thanks!

It’s an hour and a half long, and there’s so much analysis on it already —

The one that comes to mind is “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M.

The more I watch the video, the more meanings I seem to find. Plus, the song is very deep yet somewhat ambiguous, but overall an awesome tune.

You might not like the style(hard rock with one screamed line at the end of the chorus), but “Death of Me” by Red is awesome. So is “Feed The Machine”, but it’s really heavy. They have awesome, story-telling, symbolic videos. “Already Over”, “Breathe Into Me”, “Ordinary World”, all those have great videos.

But the video for “Death of Me” is probably the most symbolic.
