Best facial moisturizer for teen with acne problems?

posted in Teens |

Question by Shma: Best facial moisturizer for teen with acne problems?
I just starting a new brand of face cleansing product, after switching from proactive. The new stuff is Nutregena oil-free acne treatment. It really is oil free! My skin is starting to get so dry after using it only a few days, it is irritated, red and breaking out! What skin moisturizer won’t make me break out, and will fix the dryness!?
Thanks so much!

I always got the Clean and Clear moisturizer for acne-prone skin… they have it everywhere (and with different varieties, like the weird, orange “Morning Burst” kind), and usually stores make a generic version of it. It wasn’t too heavy or light, and had some acne medication in it.

Now that I’m older and don’t have acne problems anymore, I’ve discovered sulfur soap… that stuff works wonders on my occasional break-outs. I wish I would have been able to use it back when I was pizza-faced.

First you will have to stop the cleanser as I think its not suitable for you since you have bad reactions.

Try Cetaphil / Himalaya / Simple cleanser and moisturizer instead, they should be gentle enough.

Avoid toner, face scrub for now and apply pimple gel only on spot (not entire face) to prevent further irritation.

Try applying honey or aloe vera gel as facial mask regularly for now if you are not sensitive to them.

I had the same issue girl! I tried almost everything on the market.
The best I’ve came across is St.Ives.
They have a moisturizer that comes in a pretty good size jar and its not too oily and it leaves my face moisturized throughout the whole day!
The reason I love St.Ives is because its more natural and herbal and it doesn’t use harsh chemicals in it like peroxide and all that junk.
Try it out and plus its a good price.

Although there is no cure, acne treatments are available to help control breakout activity. Acne treatments are divided into three categories: topical, systemic, and procedural. The course of treatment is determined by the type and severity of acne.

Knowing your grade of acne will help you choose the most effective treatment plan. Grade I and Grade II (mild to moderate acne) can often be treated with over-the-counter products. A dermatologist must treat Grade III and Grade IV (moderately severe to severe, or cystic acne).
