With buddy Randy Cline (Luckydog15), we drove to Gallia County, where we were both captivated by the beauty of the little river town of Gallipolis. This was taken from one of the highest points of the area, atop Mound Cemetery Hill, using a tip from a couple of people I met in the park (near the three ice breakers on the left bank of the river).

Many people have commented on my photostream with remarks about my frequent travels. Their impression may be exaggerated because I post randomly from archives. In fact, I don’t go to more than 3-4 places in any particular year, but to some places I go (far) more often than others. If you count the stamps in my passport it will become clear that I have been to Turkey more than all other destinations combined. In photos that’s even more than London or my Berkshire neighbourhood.
And there’s a good reason for that: the photo opportunities (and life experiences) in Istanbul are unparalleled, I would choose the city over another destination any time (and have even declined business elsewhere, giving preference to a Turkish client). No wonder they call it ‘city of the world’s desires’.
This (almost) random selection cannot begin to start to show the tip of the iceberg. It’s just a tip of the hat for one of the greatest cities of the world.
