Is there any correlation between the onset of acne and growth spurts?

Question by Tony1234: Is there any correlation between the onset of acne and growth spurts?
I am 5,6 and 17 with shorter parents. I have not grown in a while but suddenly have been get “worse than normal” acne. Does this mean that I have some more growing to do? or Is the no relation?

Don’t worry about stuff you have no control over. You still have at least 4 more years of puberty left – with the possibility of additional growth during that time. Anything is possible – but no guarantee’s. Just about everybody gets acne to some degree or another. Growth has nothing to do with it. You can help matters by dumping the junk food, fast food garbage & sugary sweet soda’s. Drink lots of water, fruit juices & fat free milk to help keep the traffic flowing. Life is not always the way it’s supposed to be. It’s just the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.
