What should I pack for a Carnival Cruise?

Question by swimchickky: What should I pack for a Carnival Cruise?
I am 14 and going on a 4 day cruise to Cozumel in February. We are traveling with Carnival. I am going with my family? What should I pack? Something similar to a checklist would be great!

Thanks!

i went to cozumel on a carnival cruise once. it is very hot there. bring lots of summer clothes, sunblock. also dont forget some nice dresses for dinner time. if your participating in any of the shore excursions dont forget to bring what you may need for them as well.

O I <3 cruises, and have been 2 cozumel twice. You want to bring a mixture of things because the weather is not always predictable. Also, is your cruise formal dinner? I would have dressy wear for dinning, of course a bathing suit(s) I would bring shorts and capris (I went in Nov and it was in the 80’s) but make sure you bring some jeans in case it’s cold. Bring flip flops and stuff for on the cruise but closed sneakers or something for cozumel. They have blow dryers in the bathroom. I help that answer your question, enjoy I’m so jealous :-)

Well food and stuff like that is on the ship and is included with the actual purchase of the cruise. Bring clothes and sunscreen is what I would recommend.

    Chargers for any electronic devices
Extra power cord for hair dryers and what not
Extra bathing suits (unless you dont mind wet ones)
Shorts and t-shirts or tank tops

You probably will soend alot of time in your bathing suit so don’t over pack, something dressier for dinner flip flops are great becasue the deck gets hot. Sun block (they sell it on the boat but its expensive)

The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM. So take: -swim wear (at least 2),
    -shorts,
    -sandals,
    -beach shoes,
-your snorkel equipment if you have it,
    -sun glasses and sun screen,
    -lotions,
-a cap or big hat for the sun,
-a book if you are a reader, –
    -your music player,
-sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym, -good walking shoes,
    -your camera, and
    -other personal toiletries.

Your cabin will have towels and soap provided, including pool and beach towels. It will also have a generic hair shampoo so you do not need to bring that unless you like a specific brand. They do not provide tooth paste, mouth wash or lotions. They DO provide a hair dryer.

After 6:00 PM they request that you wear “sports or resort casual” attire. That’s attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, (like a bank employee), shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc. You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, etc. You don’t need to take a lot of regular clothes because you will spend most of your time in shorts and swim wear. A couple sets will do.

Most cruises have a formal night when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the ship’s Captain. The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire. But most people do dress up. You can wear what you would wear to church and you’ll be fine. You will not be denied access to the dining room or anything else if you choose not to dress up.

    – Its best to pack using soft-sided luggage because with space limited in your cabin it fits under the beds better if its not hard sided luggage.

-Take a small carry-on bag for the last night of the cruise. On the last evening you will be required to put your luggage outside your cabin by about 2:00 AM so that they can start taking it down to the lower deck for offloading the next morning. So you will need a small bag for your toiletries and your clothes that you sleep in.

    – If you can take a six-pack of bottled water and soft drinks in your carry-on for your cabin. You will have to pay for both on the ship and its nice to have those handy in the cabin.

    – If you are taking your cell phone, MP3 player or other item that needs to be plugged in take an extension cord as the plugs in the cabin are generally not in the best places and there are usually only one or two.

    – Take a small bottle of hand sanitizer. There are generally sanitizer dispensers at the entrances of restaurants, the buffets and dining room, but some times the are not there or not working. The sanitizer helps prevent the spread of the Norwalk Virus that sometimes occur on cruise ships.

-If you plan to get into the pools or hot tub as soon as you get on ship, bring those clothes in your carry on bag; you other luggage may not get to your cabin until much later in the afternoon.

-Tell your parents to get a walkie talkie to keep in touch with you on ship, and to keep in touch with others. The ship will likely have a teens area and a video arcade that you’ll want to hang out in; so they can call/check up with you with the two-way.

Hey! I can totally help because I’m 15 and I have been on 6 cruises, including 4 Carnival.

    So…
You’ll need an outfit for dinner each night.
    3 CASUAL + 1 FORMAL
    For the three casual nights:
-3 pairs of dark skinny jeans, or other nice jeans
-3 tops, like baby dolls or bubbly tops
-OR a casual sundress, with leggings if it’s too short
-Accessories: necklaces, bangles, rings, headbands, earrings
-Shoes: wedges, flats, or flat strappy sandals, try to avoid flip flops
    For the formal night:
    -A cute cocktail dress
-Heels, either pumps or sandal style

    Daytime:
    -2 swim suits
-2-4 cover ups (can be either shorts and tank top or a very casual sundress)
-Flip flops that you don’t mind getting wet or sandy

    Of course you’ll need:
-1 or 2 pairs of PJs
    -Underwear
    -Socks
-Bras (make sure you have some for all your outfits!)
    -A hoody or 2
    -Toothbrush
    -Toothpaste
    -Deodorant
    -Shampoo
    -Conditioner
    -Soap
    -Razor
    -Make up
    -Money
    -A few water bottles
    -Sunglasses
    -Sunscreen
    -iPod
    -Magazines
    -Lip balm
    -Hand sanitizer
    -Perfume/body spray

    If applicable:
    -Contacts
    -Contact Solution
    -Glasses
    -Pads/Tampons
    -Medication(s)

I also like to bring a pillowcase to put on the pillow I sleep on. It’s easier than bringing a whole pillow, but still feels like home.
    Have fun!!! :)
