    No, it’s not too late.
If you like it, you can become great at it and if you become great at it, then you can follow a career with it!

Its never to late to start it just helps if you start early because then you already know must of it have practiced for awhile and you can just refine it from there but i don’t know about any of those TV shows i think they want references and stuff so your having no experiences might put them off even if you were best dancer in the world.

it might be for a professional ballet career. i am currently in a pre- professional school and i started at 14. i am trying to make it as a professional ballet dancer… the odds are very low though. you would need to immediately go to a professional ballet academy, and audition for their pre- professional schools. some will not accept an older dancer with no experience. you would also need to be born with the body, facility, and musicality of a ballet dancer that only 2% of the population is born with. most ballet students who aspire to become a professional are done with all of their ballet training at the age of 16. at that age they will be made an apprentice, and then at the age of 18 they are accepted into the corps de ballet. some ballet students who have danced all their lives never make the professional ranks. ballet is very hard to make a career in, and believe me ballet careers are very short, and most ballet dancers do not make a lot of money. if it is your passion though, i would encourage you to give it a go like i am. see if you can actually make it as a professional. don’t expect to get into the ABT or NYCB. maybe think about auditioning for local companies when you are ready. many companies out there now are more open to accepting older dancers ranging from ages (21- 23). you will see that more in local companies. if you started your serious ballet training now, then that would give you many years to get good technique, make it to pointe shoes, and do partnering classes etc. you are going to need to work extremely hard in your dancing. you will need to take as many classes a week as your academy will allow. you will also want to take classes with younger dancers, since you will need all the technique that you can get. in your case you will be playing a game of catch- up. talk to your instructor about pursuing a professional career, and she will be able to tell you what you need to do. i wouldn’t rely so much on this dream though, because becoming a ballet dancer in your teens is highly unlikely. *some things that will help you with core and leg strength, plus building slim muscle, is either swimming laps, and taking a pilate’s or yoga class. try those out, they will help you out so much. i am having an easier time with my dancing because i have more muscle.* anyways, good luck, and sorry that i only gave you an answer to part of your question, but i have never had a jazz class. hope i helped!
