   you either have to appeal to your audience through a category or post something unique/bizzare/random and hope it gets hyped up. that will get you views and with views comes subscribers.

   so you need an audience first. do you want to appeal to females or males? young or old? teen or middle aged? by the type you choose, you should sort your videos according.

   for example, if you posted a justin bieber parody, your target group would be teenagers-male or female. a parody for the males and the justin for females.

   if you did a channel on games, your audience would be males middle aged + teens. i don’t recommend this since there are TONS of channels on gaming and you coming into the ‘business’ would be difficult as there would be large amounts of experienced youtuber’s creating better videos on gaming.

   if you make classical music then your audience would be older males + females.

   as far as i know, the best success % rate of attaining subscribers would be to target the most people so you should target either males + females of all ages. that means making a video all of them would enjoy such as entertainment. not sports entertainment but something funny or cool. i can’t tell you what videos those can be since the possibilities are endless; that’s where your creativity comes in.

   it’s extremely difficult explaining this all but even if you do what i say, your videos might not be good enough to rack in views and gain subscribers. you could post a really well done video and after a month only have 10 views. if that happens either your video wasn’t appealing enough or it hasn’t gotten the ‘spark’ (hype) that it needs. in that case you could refer the video to some friends on social sites or just wait it out until someone sees your video and backlinks it.
