life is hard enough without acne, but with acne it makes things extremely frustrating. especially during positive moments in life. example: when my niece was born everybody took pics with the baby and there’s me, her uncle, like absolutely no way im getting proof of this face on camera and its been that way since i was 17, now 25. its turning all my happiest moments in life negative. ugh if acne can ruin normal ppls day, does that mean its ruining my life? sure as hell feels like it

Thanks for the tip! I’ve heard of saint john’s wart, but I didn’t know it could help depression. Right now, I’m focusing on talk therapy because I think there are a lot of things that I just need to express and let out to a therapist who can help give me an outside perspective. I find that talking about what I’m going through is so helpful – afterwards, it’s like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders

I also struggle with acne and find it really hard to stay positive, I’ve never been a very positive person but acne is making it so much worse. Im at the point where I dont even feel truely sad or happy anymore, Id say im usually a level under normal. I dont think anyone understands how much acne can affect your life especially when your putting so much time and money into products and nothing seems to make it go away but the only thing you can do is to never give up because it will get better

Thanks for your comment :) It’s always comforting to know that there are other people going through similar experiences. I went off the birth control pill, which is actually one of the reasons I started breaking out. But I’ve been off the pill for 2.5 years now and I don’t think I could ever go back on it. You are so right, being vulnerable is human. I have come a long way since that video (thankfully) and I’m getting much better at showing my vulnerability to my loved ones

Great overall health tip! I agree that this will definitely be beneficial for my skin, but I doubt that will eliminate my depression. I’ve realized that, while acne and depression are connected, one does not cause the other. My depression is pretty deep rooted in emotions and issues I’ve dealt with internally for most of my life.

Thanks so much for your comment. I was really wondering if it was worth posting something like this as it was a pretty hard thing to do… but even if you’re the only one who can relate, I think it’s worth it. Acne and depression are very different problems but can definitely be linked. Let me know if you’re interested in natural acne treatments. I’ve been off prescriptions for 2 years and my acne is finally somewhat under control. I’ve experimented a lot so I have tons of tips. Msg me anytime!
