I’m a teen at 15 (16 in a couple months) and I’m, at the moment, writing a fantasy books. Fantasy is great for teens to write about because they can create anything they want because Fantasy isn’t real. You can bend the law of physics, and no one can jump out and say, “Hey, that’s wrong!” Because how can it be? You made it up! Also, you can take popular ideas like Werewolves and Mermaids (whatever) and make it your own. Besides, other genres like realistic fiction (murders, real life stuff) you have to do research on which isn’t as fun and you have to really know what you’re talking about. Fantasy is much more fun to write about – after all you’re making it up as you go! Hope this helped, good luck!

The things that YOU are going to write about need to come from YOUR head. It won’t be the same if someone else thinks of it for you!

    Good luck with your writing!

I hope you’re writing this for your own personal benefit and not just to have a popular story. Write what you feel most comfortable with and enjoy writing. You won’t get much; if any, respect from serious writers if you’re asking what to write and what would be the most popular. You’re a teen so figure out what you and others your age like then go from there. It’s not our job to come up with ideas for you.

Well, I think you should write whatever comes into your mind. I know I know, it sounds cliche. But if you want a really good topic for teen fiction, I think “coming-of-age” or a topic where it’s mostly about how teens survive in school. I find myself drawn to these topics, and they’re really good for teens because we can all learn something from it, even from fiction books. I hope this helps.
