Question by Avy: How do I get more views on youtube?
My cousin us getting tons of views by posting videos of an anime show on his channel. I’ve heard people say to promote them by commenting on other videos but that just leaves you with hate comments.

Commenting om other channels is a good way to get people to your channel as it provides a link to it. But saying something like “Come watch my channel” comes across as spam which people get pissed off at. Instead comment about their video, say something funny about it, or what you don’t like about it.

If you’re also not doing well for views check your keywords, you might need to fix them to make it easier for you’re videos to be found. Also add a detailed description as these help search engines rank your video in search results.

    If you get more subscribers that helps, so why not do sub 4 sub? Lots of people do sub 4 sub and its a great way of gaining subscribers over time, just be patient!
    I agree with the other answers, DON’t post comments like: ‘would you mind checking out my videos’ etc as it can get rather annoying!
    Go round channels that are like yours and add them as a contact. Maybe you could send around a message with your video attached to them and they may look at it. Use lots of tags, tags that people will actually search for. (eg: a celebrity, the olympics, something that is what people watch most).
    I wouldn’t really worry about how many views you get, as long as you have fun and people actually enjoy the video, then thats what counts. Be patient, make good videos and have fun! You’ll get there in time (:

    Undeniably, the best way to get views is to post a video that becomes an internet phenomenon. Usually something really adorable that’s also silly and presents something people haven’t seen before. Using videos of pets doing interesting things can work.

    The second best way to get views seems to be for the video thumbnail to appear to be a naked woman, breasts, or a vulva. If you don’t want the video to subsequently get tons of dislikes, it helps if the part of the video that the thumbnail is from is something not so disappointing to the horny men who clicked on your video. A woman wearing skin-colored spandex usually does the trick.

    Other good methods include:
    a) posting almost anything anime-related (especially if you use cutesy shows like Lucky Star or Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) and combine them with upbeat techno music featuring high-pitched child-like voices;
    b) posting videos of people doing stupid things, hurting themselves, or getting in unfortunate accidents;
    c) posting vlogs featuring a young female (around the age of 16-25) wearing a low-cut shirt and push-up bra;
    d) posting videos of dynamic pets, especially pets getting into stuff, having wrestling matches with each other, or being startled
    e) posting anything that pertains to the biggest pop culture trends–such as the newest pop stars or Disney stars, teen heartthrobs, American Idol winners, long-famous musicians, popular or profound movie clips, and anyone who has made a lot of news headlines recently

    Finally, you can help promote these videos further by getting any popular channels you’re friends with to post on your videos or mention them in their videos, or show your videos to people who are likely to enjoy them and send them to friends. And put in lots of relative tags, but don’t put in non-relative tags. Tags get you more hits, but unrelated tags tend to get you dislikes and don’t help get the video shared.

    Any good video may take time to get started, but once it starts showing up in youtube searches, it’ll have a cascading effect as it gets more and more views, until it peaks and people get tired of it. This usually occurs within a month, but on the most phenomenal hits, it may collect views for a year or more.
