Question by : Does anyone know a good website that compares weight loss procedures?
I have heard of so many different weight loss surgeries, some that are more invasive and serious than others, and some that are more effective. Does anyone know a good site to compare options?

I have a family member that recently got the lap band procedure done at a place in the Seattle area called the Institute of Laparoscopic Surgery. I know that he found their website extremely useful in the beginning stages when he was trying to figure out which procedure was right for him…check out this website:

    Good question!

I am 6 months post-op RNY Laproscopic Gastric Bypass. 90 pounds gone so far!!!!!!! It has been a HUGE adjustment and life change, but so worth it.

Anyways, back to your question…. http://www.obesityhelp.com, is a forum based website with articles too. They cover all procedures, and people give advice, information, support etc.

It can take a couple days to learn to navigate the site well, but once you too, it is a weath of information! There are forums relating to a variety of topics: diet, exerciese, sex before and after surgery, marriage etc. as well as co-morbidities such as sleep apnea, diabetes and PCOS.
Other forums are geographic based, so you can chat with folks from your state/province etc, and talk about what is available locally, and their experiences/recommendations.

This is where I did the majority of my pre-op research, and got my post-op support. Now, as an “old pro”, I try to help others on the site by giving advice!!!!
