Question by : Does anyone know any gay chat rooms for under 18s?
Does anyone know any chat rooms on the internet where I could talk to other gay teens? I don’t know anyone who is gay in my area and I really want to become friends with some and maybe find a boyfriend. I’m 15 and live in the UK btw. Thanks

Try looking up Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League (S.M.Y.A.L. – pronounced “Smile”) They are a very large gay youth organization here in America. Perhaps they have chat rooms.

Also, see if any of the cities near you have Gay Community Cent res, many of these have gay youth groups.

Just be careful going on other so called “youth sites”. There are too many old men posing as young teens trying to lure young young people into trysts or assignations.

Please, be careful.

If you ever do meet another teen on line and they ask to meet, BE CAREFUL. And if you ever do meet someone be sure to meet them in a highly public place like a coffee shop or even a public library.

NEVER meet someone in parking lot, or a motorway service area.

I hate to scare you, but there are a LOT of old pervs out there preying on young kids.

Best of luck. Don’t worry, things get easier as you get older. A LOT better.

And just a bit of advice from someone who used to be in your shoes, EDUCATE yourself. The better educated you are, the more open-minded people you are likely to meet. Sure, there are gays of all financial levels, but you’ll find live as a gay executive a lot easier than a gay factory worker.

Not that here is anything wrong with factory work, but if you still have time to work your way up, DO IT.
