I have to have one thing to show. I am against kids playing violent video games. Please dont go off on me and say I am wrong, just please tell me what I should bring. Thank you so much. :)

Try printing off some screenshots of paticularily gruesome or offensive parts of video games.
Look for the screenshots online. Good luck!

Why not let us know what you think by adding your own comment! Your opinion is as valid as anyone elses, so come on... let us know what you think.

You got our opinion of kids and video games. If you’d like homework help, there’s a section for that.

How about a printout of an actually credible study, that wasn’t funded by anyone with any vested interest in the outcome?

    An open mind.
As a “child” myself, I can understand both sides of the argument. Are children/teens easily influenced?
    Yes.

But does that mean they can’t make well informed decisions on whether or not they will let themselves be swayed from the social norm and what is law, just because of what game/music/movie they played/listened/watched?

I mean really now, how many cases do you hear of children randomly beating up citizens and stealing cars as in Grand Theft Auto? Not many here in America. Or at lest not because of what they did in that game.

However, wouldn’t it be better to sit down and talk to your child or teen about what’s is okay in a video game and what’s okay in real life?

But the most importantly, each teen and child is different from the next, while I can only speak for myself, I assume most people under the legal age of being consider an adult, would hate to be limited based on what a few ill-judge people do. As well as adults. But hey, that’s why we have ratings, do we not?

If this is a debate, it’s always good to think of what the opposing views are going to say and plan out from there. If not a debate, but a regular speech, try not to make it sound like you’re not lump all children and teen into one brainless mass who can’t think for themselves. That’s when people start to tune out. Write out your initial thoughts, and have a friend/parent/whatever read it and give honest criticism. Picture and studies, as well as polls and graphs, are a sure way to make an impact. Try finding news videos and clippings. I would recommend also making a slide show with animation to capture the audience’s attention.

With that said, practice speaking your speech over and over again, till not only you can not look at the paper (and still know what you’re saying), but to give it with empathizes and excitement.
I wish you the best of luck, though!
