   I was testing a firmware update at the time, and it offered some in-camera ‘artistic’ effects but I liked most of all the above unfiltered version. Some of the other SooC shots:

   
   Selective colour set to red

   
   High-contrast monochrome

   
   This one is called ‘Toy camera’, though I’m yet to see a toy camera produce this effect

And they aren’t a luxury – used ones are very affordable: you can easily find one for the price of a new Toyota Corolla. No singing-dancing Japanese electronic gadgets, but it’s a Lotus!

    The good thing about it is it’s a racing car. The bad thing about it – it;s a.. racing car I need comfort and safety, smooth ride on normal roads, not neck-breaking speed on racetracks…

    Ironically, this very kit car in the photo – configuration, shape, polished metal finish and all – is modelled after a very early (50-s) Lotus, the Mk IV
