My female friend separated from her husband about 6 months ago & are divorcing. They moved to the west side of town & she put her 2 pre-teen daughters in the new middle school. It is a better school with greater academic & sports programs. They were both popular in their old school & they want to go back to it. Her decision is for them to stay in the new school. They have had a number of arguements over this. How can she help them accept this decision & bring peace back to her home?

Tell her to wait a while. most of the time kids will adjust quickly. Just think of the first time you drop your kids off at kindergarten, they usually get upset for the first week or so then they are fine. it may take longer with older kids but they will make the best of it. Wish you both the best of luck.
