How to reduce bags under eyes? Teen advice, please?

Question by : How to reduce bags under eyes? Teen advice, please?
I’m a teenager girl with even oily/dry skin (but is more oily at times). I wake up early in the morning (for me, anyway), which causes bags under my eyes. I don’t rub my eyes (which I’ve heard can produce bags). What can I do to prevent bags to form under my eyes? They’re very unattractive to me, and I don’t want them to form. Help?

I have the same problem. The only thing I’ve found that helps is lots of sleep. Sleep in on the weekends. Go to sleep early. Perhaps if you ask around there is some sort of make-up that can help reduce bags, but so far I haven’t been able to get rid of mine, only shrink them. Also, I just looked and it looks like bags could be caused by too much water, and you will know if you drink too much. Also, an interesting remedy is chilled or frozen green tea bags applied directly for 10-15 mins. Haven’t tried it myself, but it couldn’t hurt, and it sounds easy enough.

These safe natural treatments really work and can permanently get rid of them..

This is a response I received from wannabeblue28:
“Hi Mukunda M. I have just been rubbing my face with oil using my fingers and hands and It has made a HUGE difference in my complexion after just one night. …… My skin looks so much tighter everywhere and i no longer have bags under my eyes! Thank you so much for your post, I have been suffering with acne and under-eye circles since i was young.”

She had seen an answer I gave about how vigorous face massaging with essential oils had permanently got rid of my acne and also removed my bags/circles. The massages greatly tighten skin under and around the eye area and the bags go away.

The most helpful ones are: Using both hands together (1) Do long up and down sweeps close to nose from chin area up to near eyes. (2) Do another up and back at an angle from chin point to cheek bone. (3) Do fast up and down massage close to eye from cheek bones at an angle of 45 degrees (on your crows feet). If do all 3 for 10 minutes daily – will markedly tighten skin and diminish the circles in the first two days. Use any oil. Olive is good. To avoid skin pulling first make skin taught by partially opening mouth and pulling lips firmly back against teeth(tightens most of face)

Additionally facial yoga exercises help a great deal. Find on Youtube. Do the “The lion face” and try to hold for 30 seconds. A variation of that is protruding the tongue as if trying to touch tip of nose with tip of tongue.

YOGA MEDITATION is a great help.and is easy to do. Contact me for more info. It enables you to completely relax and gives you deep, restful sleep. 6 hours of restful sleep is considerably more beneficial than 8 or more hours of non restful sleep.

First off, remember that the bags under your eyes always look the worst first thing in the morning. Even if you are one of those people who have bags under your eyes all day long, they will always look worse when you first wake up.

I have under-eye bags and it’s not because I’m not getting enough sleep. Everyone in my family has them.

Before you consider ANYTHING for treating them, ask yourself truthfully if they go away by noon. If they do, don’t add to your skin’s problems by adding more chemicals to it that you don’t really need.

The bags under your eyes first thing in the morning are a build-up of fluid. The application of cold, using either a flexible icepack (wrapped in towel, never directly against your face) or other cold items can really reduce the swelling fast.

The other cold items to consider are time-tested remedies like refrigerated wet teabags or cucumbers, or even a refrigerated spoon.

Conversely, if you have sinus problems or nasal allergies, a hot compress or heating pad may really help to get things flowing. Is this a seasonal problem for you?

You can also try elevating the head of your bed by raising it up on a couple of nice thick books.

Often accompanying bags under the eyes are darkish pigmentation in the corners that looks like bruising. It’s actually the next best thing to bruising, because it’s the swelling and rupturing of tiny blood vessels in the skin beneath your eyes, near the nose.

The darker pigmentation beside the puffiness accentuates both.

That brings up diet, which is really critical for people who bruise easily. Not surprisingly, “people who bruise easily” usually have raccoon eyes as well.

    1. Eat more vegetables. That’s your best defense against both the bruising effects and also the puffiness.

    2. Drink more water. Eat less salt. Eat more potassium*. If you’re a fan of salty snacks, you’re inviting fluid gain, which loves to build up in your eye bags.

    3. Take a daily multivitamin.

    4. Religiously use a nice strong but gentle sunscreen made for the face. If you have to have a tan on your face, get it out of a bottle; there’s plenty of excellent bronzers out there.

Chemical help: If you’re a teen, you’re probably too young to need it, but an eye cream with retinol and vitamin K may help to firm up the skin around the eyes.

Cosmetic help: You can use a nice concealer if you are having the raccoon eyes problem.

*You should strive to add natural sources of potassium to your diet. If you use potassium supplements, be sure to eat them with food and plenty of liquids. The RDA of potassium can make you pretty sick if you try to take it all by itself in pill form.
