I STRONGLY recommend you go see a doctor ASAP. They can help answer all your questions. I also recommend the book “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. Lots of good advice in there.

I was preg at 18 so I kind of know where you’re coming from. First you have to sced your exam with the OBGYN ASAP, they will let you know the do’s don’ts. The cramping should be normal it is your uterus preparing for the 25+ pounds you are about to gain ;D Drink lots of water, get lots of sleep, eat healthy and don’t stress out, or try not to! Good luck!

the cramping is your uterus stretching its perfectly normal, my dr told me only to worry if it get severe or if i start spotting. i eat pretty much anything i want except for anything raw or undercooked. i am almost 12 weeks and still sleep on my belly, your body will tell you when to stop, it will get uncomfortable.

Agree, read What to Expect When Your Expecting and talk to your doctor.

You’ll most likely in your 1st trimester feel your great symptoms. Morning sickness, back pains, ect.

Usually your doctor (or midwife, whoever you go to see) will give you information about stuff like that.

Cramping is normal early in the pregnancy…it’s your body changing, and you probably are feeling it.

I slept on my tummy until my baby bump started to show. And that was about….18 weeks or so. You’ll know when you have to stop sleeping on your tummy…your body will let you know, because it will feel uncomfortable!

Congratulations on your baby! It’s going to be life changing!

I’m glad you’re not like other teens who want to abort the baby. I don’t know if I’m pregnant YET, but I will find out in 2 days :). Well first off, you can’t eat seafood because some of them contain mercury, which isn’t good for the baby. You should take prenatal vitamins. You can take “one a day prenatal vitamins” they sell them at walmart for a good price. Cramping is normal. It’s just your uterus stretching itself so that the baby can grow. You should probably stop sleeping on your stomach when you start showing. Good luck :)

I had my first child when I was 15… (The FIRST time I had sex, I got pregnant) Being a teen mother is HARD work…..but it IS possible to do it!! I did!! :)
depending on WHERE you live, there are ALOT of resources!!
get hooked up with a pregnancy class (you’ll learn ALOT with it!!!) Talk to your doctor and see if there is anything in your area that they know of to help…
when it comes to sleeping, do it until it feels uncomfortable…with my first, I stopped sleeping on my stomach when I was 3 months, but with my second and third, it was 4…
the cramping is usually normal in the beginning and I remember ALOT of it with my first pregnancy and the doctor told me it was my uterus “stretching”…but check with your doctor to make sure it’s normal….just to be on the safe side…

I got pregnant when I was 15 and had my son when I was 16 so I know exactly where you’re coming from. The cramping is normal as long as there’s no bleeding. It’s just your uterus stretching and believe me it can hurt like hell at times. It would have me doubled over at points. For things you can’t eat and when you should stop laying on your stomach to sleep you should really go to an OBGYN. I was scared at first but after me and my child received such great care I recommend it to all teen mothers. If you have any questions and need someone to talk to feel free to email me at mdh2532@email.vccs.edu. I know where your coming from and maybe I’d like to help you in anyway I can.

Other advice! Stay in school and further your education. I graduated second in my class and took college courses in high school and was accepted into a physical therapy program straight out of high school. It’s tough but hang in there

    Congrats!

Im also a teenager and pregnant.
    17yrs old. Planned pregnancy I must say. Im 7 weeks 3days :)
Couldn’t be happier. The first thing you need to do is stop stressing if you are, as this can cause your fetus to be stressed also. Cramping is normal, as long as you don’t start bleeding and it gets too severe. At 5weeks the fetus is so tiny! So laying on your stomach won’t hurt bub. When your a lot further along id probably think itd be too uncomfortable sleeping on your belly. I personally sleep on my tummy, and when I feel its too uncomfortable ill lay on my sides. Laying on your back after 12wks can cut the blood supply to your baby. Well so I’ve been told, & foods you can and can’t eat. get a list off your doctor. Its really wierd if you ask me. As I told mum I can’t eat fish with mercury in it, and she said she ate anything and everything when she was pregnant with us 4 kids. & we came out just fine… if you have any concerns email me at party_hard_baby08@hotmail.com or add me on msn if you have it.

    Goodluck :)

    1. start sleeping on your side now to get used to it!

    2. Eat an extra 300 calories a day! Avoid things like fish, sushi, empty sugars(junk food), raw meats/eggs, deli meats/hot dogs(if eat them have warmed thoroughly), unpasteurized cheeses and drinks, and no alcohol or smoking!

    3. Tell mom or guardian so you can get to an OBGYN! Prenatal care is vital and necessary for a healthy baby! Also if you qualify get on medicaid to help with expenses!

    4. Buy some prenatal vitamins from walmart of local grocery store! They are over the counter and you can get them for like 5$ !

    5. Last but not least with an adult come up with a plan for your future and babies! That can be anything from how your going to finish school to help with finding a job. It could also be exploring all your options including adoption but its up to you! It is possible to do this and raise a child but be told it is no easy task!

    6. Educate yourself on pregnancy and labor. Maybe even enroll in a labor and delivery class! You call your local hospitals to find out when those are and to enroll! I have included several good site that are very accurate! Hope this helps and good luck!

P.S. Cramping can be normal, its called implantation cramping! But you still need to be checked to find out if everything is fine! Most likely it is!

Hey, I’ve been there. I was 16 when I had my first. I am pregnant with my 4th now and I’m 26. We are very happy.
Start sleeping on your left side as much as possible, not on your back it restricts blood flow, not on your stomach (you already know that:) Make sure all your meat is steaming and well done. Don’t eat deli meats, or alot of seafood and fish. Also caffeine is not good for you.
If you start to get morning sickness, peppermint tea (you can get it at Wal-mart) is good, also ginger ale (Viners or red rock is best), gingersnaps, graham crackers, and soda crackers help.
Cramping is normal, just no blood. Try to see an OBGYN asap to make sure all goes well.
Happy and Healthy 9 months to you!!!!
