The Woman With the Light in Her Hair II

After some great feedback from flickr members commenting from a few scoring / rating groups I post to, I made a new crop of the woman with the light-catching hair.

It was almost impossible to keep her impressive do in the frame while trying to eliminate the distracting elements in the foreground but I still like the idea of having a little taste of the foreground to give the photo a sense of voyeuristic danger which was the reason I left so much of the foreground in the first time. Comparing the two side by side provided indisputable evidence of the simple fact that less foreground "distraction" made the subject stand out a lot more.

Having said that, I still really didn’t want to get too close to the strands of hair on the left which are almost in line with the tip of my friend’s nose in the foreground and re-touching would have ruined the photo in my opinion.

So, I settled on this crop and adjusted the colour balance and saturation a little more – A-Bing the two side by side once again provided another decisive victory to the small changes I had just made – you can now see the haloesque corona of hair around this woman’s dense locks almost exactly how they looked when the caught my attention …
of course, I think it’s too grainy now, but it’s still an improvement.
