The Toyota Motor Corp. has announced that it has begun producing the Prius hybrid in China, in a joint venture with the FAW Group, which is Chinese. Toyota hopes to sell 3,000 units in China next year. China is the fastest-growing auto market in the world, and Toyota VP Yoshimi Inaba said: "It is my strong wish that the Prius built here in Changchun will contribute to the widespread use of hybrid vehicles in China."
