Bucs lose Smith
Peyton Barber Jersey , A potential massive blow to the Buccaneers offensive line occurred in today’s practice as left tackle Donovan Smith went down with an apparent right knee injury. Smith has not missed a start since entering the league three years ago. Smith can be seen in the clip below attempting to walk off with much help from trainers. Tampa Bay has to hope for some positive news to what otherwise appears to be a bad injury. We’ll be keeping an eye on this situation closely and hope to get an update after practice on Smith as well as safety Justin Evans, who was also reportedly injured.Evans was carted off the field shortly before Donovan Smith went down according to Pewter Report. This would be a huge blow to a blossoming young safety that the Bucs plan to lean on heavily. With injuries mounting up for this Buccaneer team, the regular season can’t come soon enough.Is there room for Justin Watson? Training camp is only a few days old, but it’s never too early to talk about position battles that will continue to unfold throughout August. The Bucs have their fair share of battles all over the roster, but one that might be overlooked is at wide receiver. The group is so deep that someone is bound to find themselves looking for a new team in September, perhaps by no fault of their own. After Sunday’s practice, head coach Dirk Koetter was complimentary of Watson:It’s good to see that the rookie is getting his looks early in camp. The better he performs in practice, the more game action he should see during the preseason. But once the final roster decisions have to be made, will there be a spot for him? In his camp observations from Sunday, Bucs Nation’s Evan Winter said that he sees Watson making the team out of camp. It could happen, but as Koetter said, he has a fight ahead of him.
