Cheap Matt Barnes Jersey , Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Singapore shares closed 1.2 percent lower on Tuesday, as investors waited for the outcome of the two-day U.S. Federal Reserve meeting beginning later Tuesday.
The outcome of the Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee will be known later Wednesday, and Investors will be scanning the outcome for clues on the timing of the first U.S. rate hike in more than eight years.
The Federal Reserve officials said they do not expect to raise rates until 2015, but recently strong U.S. economic data has led officials to acknowledge they may need to act sooner than they thought just a few months ago.
