Zyvox (Linezolid) is an antibiotic which is used to manage severe bacterial infections that have not reacted to other antibiotics (resistant infections). It functions by preventing the expansion of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections.

Mechanism of action:
The mechanism of action for this drug is different than that of other antibacterial agents; therefore http://www.hockeybluesteamshop.com/Blue ... as-Jersey/ , cross-resistance between linezolid and other classes of antibiotics is unlikely. This product acts via inhibition of protein synthesis. It binds to a site on the bacterial 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit and prevents the formation of a functional 70S initiation complex. This step is essential for the bacterial translation process.
