 Post subject: How do i install windows xp professional on my windows 7 pc?

Every time i try booting the cd the computer does int read it PLEASE I NEED XP

i already created a separate partiton

sry for not putting this in the questionbut i already made my cd/dvd drive boot first but still no luck :(

you need to partition the drive....

in other words, you need to reformat windows 7 and create a partition that is half your drive, and create another partition for xp that is another half of your drive

You're probably not booting the CD, and just letting the OS boot. To make it boot from the CD (Or DVD) you need to open your bios (If you get a logo screen pop up with things like "Press Del for Setup, ect) find the key for the Setup menu. Once there, find and configure the boot sequence to boot the CD drive first. This will boot the CD before the HDD (Windows) so you can format and install WinXP. Good luck.

Is the disk scratched? Does your disk drive work? That's all that I can think of since you say you have your hard drive partitioned and changed your boot priority.
