I didn't realize my computer was only running a trial so now it expired and I don't have any product key or anything. What should I do, get Vista?

You need to contact the person who sold (or gave) you the computer and find out why they put on only a trial version onto your computer. If you paid for your computer, you have the full right to the Operating System (OS), and it is the responsibility of the seller to provide the OS.

If they refuse (or can't) do anything for you, you can contact Microsoft and explain your situation. They sometimes actually help people when you appeal to them like that.

Good luck.

Wait for Windows 7 to come out and buy that if it meets your hardware requirements. I agree with the other person. Windows XP is old. 8 years old to be exact. So I would go with Windows 7 if you can.

you either need to reinstall xp or you can install vista. it's a shame that vista has gotten such a bad rap. i think it's 100 times better than anything before it and honestly windows 7 IS vista with a few new features and a different name. i would buy and install vista. you can get vista home premium OEM version at newegg.com for around $100.
