i was under the impression that the i5's are the latest dual cores and the i7 is the quad core. |

Surely the Core i7 and the recent Core i5 are really good quad-core processors- when u overclock them they can go faster than those thousand-dollar processors that u see on the market (example the Core i7 975 Extreme Edition 3.33Ghz).however i think the AMD Phenom II X4 are really the ones that come competitive on the market.Examples include the AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition which runs 3.4 Ghz without overclocking which costs only $189.99 on tigerdirect.com.so u see u can get a high-speed processor at such a low price compared to the more expensive quad-core processors by Intel. so my judgment is that the Intel quad-core processors are not as good as those from AMD. by the way the Intel Core i7 975 Extreme Edition 3.33GHz cost $974.99 at tigerdirect.com |
