Go to www.rockbox.org. A quick look at their website reveals that it should work with your model, and they have prebuilt modules for Linux, Windows, and Mac. I would think it would just be an issue of following the manual, which is also found online. Good luck with it; I was thinking about doing this too, but the Insignia model I ended up buying is readable on Ubuntu without doing anything. Of course, you could also install iTunes with WINE, but who'd want to do that? ;-)
