Post subject: SIMS 2 NOT WORKING??

well, i have the sims 2 installed at my dad's house and now i am trying to install it at my moms. it's not doing ANYTHING. i put the disc in and i hear some noises from inside the computer like its reading the disc and then nothing happens. by the way the computer is a DELL with windows xp if that helps? what is wrong?

First thing that comes to mind is the drive, make sure it is a DVD rom drive, if the computer happens to have a CD drive only that is your problem, next it might be a faulty DVD drive ( if you have one ) try another DVD cd in the drive and rule this out as the problem.

Open the "my computer" icon on the desktop, click on the CD/DVD drive and it should work.

If not, maybe it's just a CD player and that it doesn't work.
