Is the "Glasgow deal" a success or failure?
The 26th United Nations Summit on Climate Change, known as Kop26, was held in the Scottish city of Glasgow. It takes up to 2 years to prepare.
Representatives from nearly 200xo walletmember states have negotiated intensively over 13 days. The "deal" has not yet been finalized and the meeting must be extended by at least 12 hours.
The result is what is known as "Glasgow Climate Agreement" or "Glasgow Climate Agreement"
The question is, will this "Glasgow Pack" save the world?
The short answer is "no", but few expect that COP26 will result in such a big deal that the world is absolutely safe.
The aim of this meeting is to try to motivate, motivate and find the mechanisms that drive those countries to that point. There is still time left to be able to “cool off”.
is a price negotiation The pending "final agreement" came from the Cop21 conference in Paris, France in 2015, which was one of the most advanced in the world six years ago.
including the use of the Paris Agreement It is the basis for moving forward as much as possible. The goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as much as possible. Bringing the average global temperature down to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels.
to prevent the phenomenon "Global warming" will not spread and become a threat to all human civilization on the planet.
Such efforts were successful in some respects. failed at some point
meanwhile Some issues that can be successfully negotiated remain ambiguous. While some other issues still have to wait to be "proven" by action, whether the nation is serious about its promises or not.
So the success achieved at the 26th meeting in Glasgow was halfway through. not all failure But it was not remarkably successful.
The best conclusion to the "Glasgow Pack" was the words of Aloke Sharma, the chairman of the conference.
“I think we can reliably say we are maintaining our 1.5C target.”
“But this perseverance pulse is already very weak. and we can only be saved if we keep our promises.”
