I got some feedback a while back that my business website needed a few different things. A logo, a graphic designer, and better SEO. So, I hired Ben with Intrigue Designs and BD Productions: http://www.customgraphicsandweb.com/ and http://www.intrigue-design.com/ are his business sites.

So, when you look at the before website of mine:

http://futurewavehosting.com/FutureWaveOld/

and the new one done by Ben,

http://FutureWaveDesigns.com/

Do you think the site is now a lot better. Is it a winning site now? I think it still needs a logo. What would you say about my website? Please feel free to be very frank in appraising the quality of my current site at: www.FutureWaveDesigns.com

I could end up putting $100 per day in advertising in online advertising that will take people to that site. Some of the advertising has started already but I'm not getting results. So, can anyone suggest why or what is needed for my site?

Thanks,

Bruce

Let's see now the ones up for comparison:

http://FutureWaveHosting.com/FutureWaveOld/

and

http://FutureWaveDesigns.com/

When we are talking about the first one being better, do we mean:

http://FutureWaveDesigns.com/

or

http://FutureWaveHosting.com/FutureWaveOld/

I'm not sure which is better or if the first one is much better than the second.

thanks for your feedback and ideas.

Bruce

I like the first one. Everything looks like templates, though. Doesn't seem to have much soul. I like the slogan though! Do you get as ling as 30 seconds; that seems a lifetime on the internet!
Not sure why a design company has to employ another design company, unless you are all one and the same.Crafty!

I guess I don't need to tell you that I have serious questions about a company that offers web design but needs someone else to design their own website. Who will be designing client websites, you or the person who made your site?

To answer your question, yes it looks significantly better. It still needs work in the areas of content and SEO (and it bothers me that the center frame is left aligned). One thing that jumps out is that the first thing a client is going to want to see is examples of your work. I would remove the pottery site from your portfolio altogether. Monty's is also not a strong work.

Now as for you not getting results: are you not getting the traffic - or are you getting traffic but no clients? I get only 600 to 800 visitors a month to my site and it keeps me in steady work. (Web design keywords are very competitive and difficult to rank with)

Have you submitted to dmoz.org?
A quick look at your keywords tells me that you are shooting in the dark for search terms. You have a lot of them, but no hope to rank with them. Not that the keyword meta does much anymore, but looking at it makes it clear to me what you are trying for.
When it comes to keyphrases you are either on the front page or you are wasting your time and need to get search terms that you CAN place with.
You may want to consider optimizing for local NC searches; depending on how big a town Carrboro is, it may be a good search term.
