In the violence that broke out in a village in Caneval district, Punjab, a spokesman said: The police rushed to the scene of the accident. and found this man surrounded by an angry crowd A police officer and two subordinates tried to detain him. But the mob began to throw stones at him. This resulted in serious injuries to this police officer. The two subordinates were slightly injured.

Mujawar Gujjar, commander at Tulumba Police Station, said he was rushing to send reinforcements to the mosque. But the reinforcements did not arrive in time. The mob threw stones at the man dead and hung his corpse on a tree.

Gujjar identified the victim as Majtak Ahmed, 41, from a nearby village. “This tragic destiny has been mentally unstable for more than 15 years, and according to family records, Often he disappears from home. Begging for days and eating everything the ferret could find,” the police station commander said. along with saying that his body had been handed over to his family

An eyewitness said that The police arrived at the village before the villagers threw stones. along with detaining this man But the mob took him away from the police. and attacked an officer while trying to help him.

Later, reinforcements arrived. and searched the scene of the accident But in the end, only the man's corpse returned.

Gujjar said the investigation was reviewing the videos. as far as I can find in an attempt to identify the perpetrators It said police have so far detained about 80 men living around the mosque, but as many as 300 suspects are believed to be involved.

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his pain at the incident. and said he was requesting a report from the Chief Minister of Punjab. In regards to the police's approach to dealing with this case which he stated He also asked for a report from the Punjab police chief on measures to be taken against the lynchings.
