Having never used Magento extensions and plugins, I'm very curious to understand how it works. Do I have to contact developers every time to integrate a new extension onto the platform?

I think it doesn't hurt to consult with developers once in a while. Especially if you have a team of developers you're working with for the long term.

Probably, a lot depends on the extension and specific conditions. As for my online store, magento 2 theme development is currently a priority. I've realized that the standard website appearance is unlikely to help me stand out among competitors, so I'm actively working with Amasty specialists on improving the design. By the way, these developers also work on Magento plugins and extensions.
