I'm somewhat intimidated by the prospect of having to learn a language for a lifetime. Is there really no clear framework? Like in 1.5 years your language level will be as good as possible.

If you're planning to move to another country and will be in that language environment all the time, of course, sooner or later you'll learn the language even to the level of native speakers. But if it's just lessons with a tutor, you will have to constantly practise your language and look for opportunities to keep up your level.

Well, there really is no other way. Besides, language is a constantly changing system. There is no end point of language development, so we need to change constantly, to improve our level and mastery of the language. Therefore, even when choosing between an advanced app such as https://promova.com/app/korean-language-learning-app and some really good textbook, you should always choose the first one.
