A secondary chock-full of experienced playmakers is gaining another veteran. Tramon Williams has agreed to terms with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced Sunday. Williams spent the last two seasons in Cleveland, signed as a major addition at corner. The former
Vernon Davis Jersey Packers standout instead struggled in coverage, mi sed five games and intercepted just two pa ses in two seasons combined. Father Time's effect on him became evident in 2016, especially in man-to-man situations where he'd clearly lost a step. Williams offers upside to the Cardinals, though, because he won't be asked to cover in such situations. The 11-year veteran will instead come on board to provide depth, experience, veteran leadership and potential versatility. Exploring time at safety isn't out of the realm of po sibility, though Arizona is e sentially two-deep at the position with Antoine Bethea and rookie Budda Baker behind him at free safety.
