Ford, the premium automaker of America, is all set to launch its third SUV in India. Reliable sources have confirmed that the company is planning to bring a five-seater vehicle in this year. The concept of the SUV will be based on its classic vehicle named Kuga. The upcoming vehicle will go up against its arch-rival, the Jeep Compass.
About Ford KugaIn the year 2012, the American automaker revealed the second generation of Kuga. It uses the C1 platform which is also present in other global vehicles including C-Max and Focus. The manufacturer will renovate the Kuga so that the car will satisfy the demands of the Indian buyers.
Currently, the second generation of the
Ford Kuga 2018 is on sale in several foreign markets including Australia, Europe and North America. As the manufacturer provides a right-hand version of the premium SUV, so launching the premium vehicle in India will not be a problem.
Ford Kuga-based SUVThe Ford Kuga is available in both petrol and diesel variants globally. The rear wheel drive configured model, as well as the front wheel drive variant, are available. In India, the automaker will launch the SUV in both turbocharged petrol and diesel engines.
The Kuga based SUV will get an optional automatic transmission. Moreover, the SUV comes with top-notch safety features so that the vehicle will justify its price tag. Adding to these, a large infotainment system and some other premium features will also present.
The all-new Kuga-based SUV will be slotted between the EcoSport and Endeavour. The car might be launched after showcasing the Figo Cross. It is expected that the five-seater premium SUV will be priced in between Rs.15 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. The Kuga-based SUV might go up against the segment leaders like Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Creta.
