OSHA or occupational safety and health administration provides training for workplace safety. There are several guidelines for training and these include - determining the need of training, identifying training needs, identifying goals and objectives, developing learning objectives, developing learning activities and conducting training. It is important to analyse the situation and find out if the training can improve it. Safety trainers can assess the needs of training by observing the workers over a period of time. Trainers can select the appropriate training and these training can also be applied to real life. There are also OSHA standards that form the basis of training. OSHA standards require employers to provide fall protection, prevent exposure to harmful chemicals, provide training for certain dangerous jobs in a language understood by the workers. Training is provided to workers to handle dangerous machinery. New workers should also be trained to use these machineries. Effective training programmes reduce the number of injuries and casualties at work. Workers should be trained to prevent hazards and accidents. Under the OSH act employers are required to maintain the workplace safe and free from hazards. Employers must also follow all the OSHA health and safety standards. osha training must be mandatory to improve the health and safety of workers within organisations. OSHA is also responsible for (HAZWOPER) hazardous waste operations and emergency response standard. There are penalties for violation of OSHA standards, employers who do not follow OSHA standards are liable to these penalties.
