I have been drinking apple cider vinegar (approximately 3 tablespoons mixed in one cup of lukewarm water each morning.) I do this as an alternative to aid digestion and wean myself off Nexium due to the side effects. What is the appropriate amount of apple cider vinegar to consume? Someone told me that vinegar can damage the kidneys. Is that true and what's so special about apple cider vinegar, as opposed to regular vinegar?

As long as you don't consume more than that a day you will be fine! Just don't drink a half cup or more of it! You might want to try some honey in it also to dilute it a bit more plus it helps with the taste! Best of luck to you!

There is no clear limit as to how much Apple Cider Vinegar an individual can or should ingest. However, one should remember that, as with anything in life, one can have "too much of a good thing". It is recommended that an individual take the ACV cocktail three times a day for maximum results. The cocktail consists of 1 to 2 tsps. organic raw ACV mixed with 1 to 2 tsps. raw honey in a glass of distilled water.I think if you consume this amount you should be fine.Excessive amounts of any type of vinegar can cause liver damage. When dealing with Apple Cider Vinegar, you probably would have consume several full glasses every day for a long period of time.
