The Dover school board which approved a statement on Intelligent Design has seen 8 of its 9 members voted out in Tuesday's election. The members, all Republicans, were replaced by Democrats who would see the required statement struck from classes. "My kids believe in God. I believe in God. But I don't think it belongs in the science curriculum the way the school district is presenting it," said Jill Reiter, supporting the new members. ID holds that such a complex world necessitates a creator. The new members say they will not act hastily and consider the verdict in the ongoing lawsuit over the October 2004 decision. David Napierskie, who lost Tuesday, says that the cost of the lawsuit also factored into his defeat, aside from ideology. Source:
