Nissan Motor Co. has decided to move its US headquarters from California to Tennessee to trim costs. The decision was made after a detailed review of Nissan's North America support functions such as sales, marketing, accounting and human resources. "The costs of doing business in southern California are much higher than the costs of doing business in Tennessee," said CEO Ghosn. "That difference is taken into account amid .... the fiercely competitive environment in the automotive industry." Nissan had considered Texas and Michigan before choosing Franklin, Tennessee.
