Meteorite hunter Steve Arnold from Greensburg, Kansas discovered a 1,400- pound meteorite using a metal detector mounted on a three-wheel vehicle seven feet underground in an area famed for producing prized space rocks. Only two larger meteorite of this type are known to have been found. Arnold who estimates that this find to be worth "seven figures" Told reporters, "It is aesthetically the type of meteorite that makes collectors drool." The American Museum of Natural History in New York believe the meteor to have been part of the the Brenham meteorite which exploded centuries ago scattering more than three tons of fragments over the area.
