Randy Logan Hale has won a seat on the Romoland School District Board located about 70 miles from San Diego. Hale received 831 votes awarding him one of three open seats on the board. The only problem is that Hale is in jail. He was sent back to prison in September for violating his parole on 1998 convictions for drug possession and spousal abuse. He won't be getting out until Februrary of next year. A jail inmate winning the election to the school board is a problem for the district, and Superintendent Roland Skumawitz said he has consulted their lawyers to figure out what to do in this situation.
