An attorney representing a military intelligence officer and defence contractor has told the Senate Judiciary Committee that the Pentagon has blocked testimony detailing how four of the 9/11 hijackers were identified a year before the attack. Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer and John Smith wish to provide information regarding the secret "Able Danger" military unit which uncovered the terrorists but the intelligence was prevented from being passed on to the FBI three times. The attorney also said that records of the unit were destroyed during 2000 and 2001, with copies also being destroyed in 2004. Several other witnesses including Rep.
