An Italian theater has been forced to change the script of an Arthur Miller play to make it smoke-free following complaints from a spectator who was offended by the actor smoking while onstage. The actor, Sebastiano Lo Monaco, told a web site "This had never happened to me in more than 300 performances, however Italy introduced a smoking ban in all enclosed public places since January this year. The company’s production of "A View from the Bridge" had to be suspended for 15 minutes following the spectator heckling the smoking actor and resumed with a modified script and a non-smoking protagonist.
