Fossils have been found in southern China’s Guangxi province, that prove this 10ft tall ape with teeth an inch across once lived alongside early humans. Gigantopithecus Blackii, as the ape has been named, roamed South East Asia for a million years mainly eating bamboo according to experts. Professor Jack Rink, of McMaster University in Canada, told reporters “Probably the creatures lived up in the caves and bamboo forests, while people lived lower in the river valleys." Source:
