Ford Motor Company is recalling some 220,000 vehicles to correct potential fire hazards. One problem is with a battery cable that could rub against the vehicle frame causing sparks that might ignite a fire. Another problem is with gas tank straps. More than 123,000 Ford Freestyle crossover vehicles, Mercury Montego models, and Ford Five Hundred sedans have defective gas tank straps that could cause the fuel tank to fall off the vehicle in a few years. The battery cable problem is with the Ford Crown Victoria, Lincoln Town Car and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans and about 98,000 of these vehicles are affected. Source:
