Des Moines Judge G. Ken Renegar said that security guard Wade Gallegos, who was fired by his Neighborhood Patrol supervisor for reporting that he saw ghosts in a neighborhood he was guarding, should not be denied unemployment benefits. Upon arriving at the scene and being shown by Gallegos where the ghosts were still apparently standing, the supervisor said he saw nothing. He fired Gallegos five hours later. No alcohol or drug use was detected by the company. Neighborhood Patrol refused Gallegos' unemployment benefits application, citing misconduct. Judge Renegar ruled that observing ghosts is not a form of misconduct that can disqualify Gallegos from receiving benefits. Source:
