On the Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) on of Sept 21, 2001 Bush was advised by the CIA that no credible connection linking the attacks to the regime of Saddam Hussein, or evidence suggesting linkage between Saddam and the al Qaeda terrorist network. In fact the two were seen as enemies at odds with each other. "At one point, analysts believed, Saddam considered infiltrating the ranks" of al Qaeda. The Bush administration refused to release it and the existence was not disclosed until mid-2004. In Oct 2002 Bush said al Qaeda trained in Iraq. In Sept 03, two years later, VP Cheney said, “a relationship between Iraq and al-Qaeda that stretched back through most...of the 90s.� The Senate Intelligence Committee asked for the PDB and was denied.
