The Canadian government has opened a tattoo parlor in a Bath, Ontario, prison as a heath measure. They are trying to prevent the spread of diseases by unclean needles. Secret tattooing has been know to contribute to disease due to shared needles. "The program has advantages in that we can take a practice that already occurs, and make it safer," said Holly Knowles, a spokeswoman for Correctional Services Canada. "We're trying to reduce the amount of make-shift needles." The inmates can't have just any tattoo. Tattoo designs have to be approved by prison officials and must not be racist or gang-related. They also must have a good record in prison. The tattoos will cost the inmate C$5 (US$4.25) for one session. Source: news.yahoo.com
