European jet maker Airbus has said the group will be paying a "couple of million dollars" to companies affected by the delay in the delivery of Airbus's superjumbo, the A380. Airbus has received 159 firm orders across the world for the plane. Speaking on Australian television, Airbus CEO John Leahy said: "The airplane costs about $285m a copy, so I think it is safe to say we are talking a couple of million dollars. But let's not get into detail that's confidential..." The A380 successfully launched its maiden flight in April this year. Production delays mean that delivery has been set back by six months to April, 2007. Source: news.bbc.co.uk
