In a match that went into 30 mins overtime with Australia holding a lead 1-0 and needing a 2-0 lead for a clear victory. The qualifier was decided by penalty shoot out. Australian goalkeeper, Mark Schwarzer, made two brilliant saves to lead Australia to victory in the shoot out 4-2. The Socceroos will now be heading to Germany in 2006 for the World Cup competition.
